    • This book was part of Bookworm Blues grouping and has since been eliminated Their review here bookwormblues 2017 08 Plot King Callan has to get to the temple of Oshia to help his wife, she s dying and he s been told by his Seer that the only way to save her is to get to this temple He adds that a woman by the name of Inez will be critical to the success of the mission and he has to find her and bring her along The book opens when he s already on his way with Inez they are heading to a town to ga [...]

    • I always go into self published books with a healthy skepticism and low expectations Maybe that s a pretty harsh generalisation, but it s so easy for people to publish their work online these days that they ve often neglected vital editing processes, making for books of a lower quality Not always, but often than not.So with that in mind, this was actually a surprisingly entertaining read There s plenty of action and the pace is fast, and I ended up getting through it much faster than I anticipa [...]

    • Almost everything about this book cover the one with four characters is misleading The picture shows a large man with a war hammer, the warrior exists but he wields a sword It mentions nothing can stop the man character except maybe a godd a giant herbivore creature, a were boar, and an ogre. This is definitely a YA book The point of view switches between characters multiple times in a chapter without any hint that it is going to switch or has happened The action sequences are short and not very [...]

    • This was the first time I have ever read a book solely on a kindle and I kept my expectations low I was pleasantly surprised when I reached chapter 2 and still wanted to go on It was a fun adventure It wasn t perfect. The world building wasn t great, it was like looking at a map with an incredibly detailed road but with blank and foggy space all around it I never got a sense of the entire world And a chunk of the book felt like a series of events Perhaps because it was a first in the trilogy it w [...]

    • 4.5 starsI read a lot of fantasy and mythology books, so this is a genre I m familiar with But I ve been suffering epic fantasy burnout as of late as to me it all is feeling the same these days too many Game of Thrones wanna bees, and it s gotten so dark and with unnecessary violence in my opinion But the description for Whom the Gods Love was intriguing as were the reviews and the opening sample caught my attention so I gave it a shot Also I LOVE the cover I know, not judging the book by it and [...]

    • There were things I loved about this book, Whom the Gods Love by M.M Perry, and a few things that I didn t so much love First, the writing was great, which is VERY important to me I thought the plot was inventive yet believable, and the tone of the book felt authentic for fantasy style The pacing was solid, and the characters felt real and three dimensional We really get inside their heads and experience the world through their eyes The world building was inspired and picturesque, and described [...]

    • Well paced, nicely written and immensely fun to read, Whom the Gods Love from M.M Perry is a great read for fans of novels such as Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Merlin, Mists of Avalon, etc I d say this one holds its own with the top notch writing minor editing issues aside and plot structure, and an exciting, varied cast of colorful characters and plenty of challenges and action and thrills to go around There are some familiar tropes here as with most fantasy , however, I feel M.M Perry d [...]

    • I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Whom the Gods Love was genuinely surprising I admit, it started off rocky The characters were unsympathetic, and the story seemed slow The obvious effort put into worldbuilding was pleasing, however, and was largely the reason I kept on with it.Until, suddenly, the characters became less unsympathetic and human I think it would be best, going into the book for the first time, to realize that the narrators are unreliable not ne [...]

    • Although not my normal cup of tea, Whom the Gods Love Of Gods and Mortals Book 1 from M.M Perry delivers on all the things I like in a book great writing, and atmospheric scenery that transports me to another time and place, characters I can connect to on some level, and plots that are complex enough to challenge me and make me think, but not so convoluted so that I need to be taking notes as I go along although I do admit to losing track of some characters from time to time This is a long and a [...]

    • M.M Perry s latest epic fantasy brings to life a magnitude of creatures and characters in an ancient fantasy world In this first installment, we follow King Callan on his quest to save his wife who is dying of an incurable illness Travelling to the Temple of an Old God, King Callan and his party are faced with numerous challenges that they must overcome A typical plot for a fantasy novel with quests and whatnot The book, which is roughly 238 pages, is well written and contains descriptions where [...]

    • Wow, I m actually surprised by how much I loved this book Fantastic fantasy adventure suitable for adults and mature teens Although there are the standard themes and tropes present to make it a traditional fantasy, it really struck me as so much due to the depth of the characters and the fact that even for a fantasy the rules seemed to go out the window a few times and really threw me for a loop no spoilers I thought the characters did a great job of bringing the story to life in a fun and enga [...]

    • In Whom the Gods Love , M.M Perry has shown herself to be an author of great talent for weaving complex plots brought passionately to life by the strong, intelligent, and authentic characters, and I like how this book is just as much character driven as it is plot driven It s funny because I rarely read much fantasy books, but Ms Perry has me hooked and now I want to read the rest of the series I m so happy I gave this book a chance Great twists throughout, and fluid, fast paced writing keep you [...]

    • Was a little unsure if this book would be something I would like but I ended up loving it The book had a great combination of action scenes, honesty from the characters and playful banter between the group Cass stories were hilariously witty and had just as much detail as the main story All too often authors will breeze over a characters stories but M.M Perry put in the right amount of detail but didn t make it too long and take away from the main story The twist with the clan of magic wielders [...]

    • I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review This starts out as your typical hero involved in a quest story, but then it quickly changes The characters couldn t be diverse and different from each other than plants and animals This, instead of being a problem, works The story works very well though, the characters despite their differences play very well against each other The author also displays an ironic sense of humor through out the entire story

    • I started this book because I received it free I liked the sinopse so I took the chance I was positively surprised We live many adventures and meet really good characters I liked the fact that in the way to fins a cure to the wife of king Callan, the 2 warriors that are going to help are always telling some stories that they lived before Its a nice touch because it helps to create the world in this book I recomend it

    • Fun book This book contained warriors gods and romance What could anyone want There was adventure and strange creatures The only downfall was there were creatures thrown in at one point that did not seem to have a reason to be there like the giant spiders Who can say if they will be in the next book though

    • Very enjoyable It would be easy for a book like this to fall into the sameness of many other group of friends on a quest stories However, this story has avoided that It is very well written with strong characters and an interesting plot I enjoyed it immensely, and am looking forward to reading the next 2 books.

    • Fantastic I really enjoyed the characters and mythology created here, and the stories of the gods told by the characters to each other rather than part of the narrative was a nice touch People actually talk to each other and banter, rather than just for plot point The world feels lived in, and I can t wait to go back

    • I really, really liked this book It had everything you could ask for A quest, adventure, harrowing tales, a bold, strong female lead character and of course a twist ending Some thing were unexpected but somethings were expected Even though I suspected it might be I was still pleasantly surprised with the revelation I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

    • This is the story of a king s quest to save the life of his queen He is aided by a group of people who start as strangers, but become friends There are trials, dangers, and surprises exactly as one would expect with such a story This is the first book in a trilogy and I m inclined to read the remaining two books.

    • A ride into the lap of the GodsI liked the character of Cass Even though she was brass and loud, she had depth and warmth for her travelling companions The exotic animals brought fear and drama to the plot A great read.

    • I am really a fan of this genre I really like the story and the characters but the imagery of the places is lacking for me.But all in all this books is a page turner and I am looking forward to the other books.

    • This is such an amazing book You either love or hate the characters from the beginning, most of them you end up loving , and it is full of so much adventure, awesomeness, and enjoyment It is definitely a hard book to put down, once you ve started reading.

    • Deep magicA simple story about heroes on an adventurebut then you find out that they aren t always who you think they are, and sometimes aren t even who they think they are, themselves

    • Wow At first the abruptness in the way the POV changed threw me but i got used to it very quickly This epic adventure was amazing I am so glad I had a chance to read and discover this series and author This is a must read and I can t wait to purchase the next book

    • First got introduced to the book through Voracious Readers Only.Didn t have high hopes at first, as it was sent in an e book format, but was pleasantly surprised by it Of course, it s not perfect, but definitely a fun read.

    • Was actually better then i thought it would be when i first started the book Beautiful story tellings within the book Awesome characters, and personalties Excited to get my hands on the rest

    • InterestingI enjoyed reading this story vet much It kept me entertained It made me laugh and kept my interest though out the story.
